UK Lingerie Trip

Now that I’ve been in London for almost a week, I have plenty of lingerie-related things to share. Didn’t have enough time to visit everything I wanted to, but I guess I’ll have to leave it for the next time. Anyway, I’ve been doing lots of lovely things and visiting amazing places. It’s the 4th time I am in London and I can tell you it’s the best time ever!

Yesterday I was on Oxford St., shopping for clothes (as I’ve said before, Brazil is a pretty expensive place to shop) and, as I stopped by Miss Selfridge/Topshop, I grabbed some panties (knickers! we are in England!) because they looked really pretty and I know they make comfortable things. It’s very cheap (9 pounds for 3 panties!) and I really love the ones I chose.

Three for 9 pounds on these cuties? Totally worth it.

Then, as it was a beautiful sunny day -and I should add that the weather here is wonderful, totally different from the common english weather-, I walked to the Marble Arch to get to Paolita/Kiss me Deadly boutique. It’s a small, lovely place! The lady was very helpful, I tried on some sizes of the Van Doren bralet and ended up with the medium one. It’s probably the post comfortable bra ever, but I’ll be reviewing that later.

Along with that, I got this amazing (truly, truly amazing) suspender belt which I am almost sure is from the Van Doren collection as well, but it has lace on the front. And it has 6 straps, which is so much better than 4! The panties were a little too big on the waist, as they were high-waisted. It happens with every high-waisted one… Anyway, I was very happy with my bralet and suspender belt!

That was the end of a day, which had a few more stuff like some amazing pieces of clothing, dinner with friends and a flash meeting with Caro, the Lingerie Lesbian – but I’m pretty sure I’ll be seeing her in Leicester next week!

Today, when the sun was already up on the sky, I woke up to a day in Notting Hill. They had this super cool street market with plenty of vintage stuff, collectibles, pretty dresses, foods, china… I bought a lot of nice things like an old camera for my dad’s collection, a polka dotted dress and a 3-plates vintage cake stand that looks like it came from Alice in Wonderland.

Just in Portobello Road, I could find What Katie Did boutique, full of faux vintage things and feathers. The women on the store looked like pin up girls, which was beautiful. I didn’t stay there for too long, to be honest, because although I really love the vintage aesthetic, I am not bold enough to spend my money on a set for me, yet. Specially because 1 pound turns out to be almost 4 reais (which is the brazilian currency, if you are not aware). But I needed hosiery for my new suspender belts, and they were on a really good price. Me and the ladies spent some minutes discussing sizing and wether I’d be better with fully nylon stockings or not. I ended up choosing not to take the nylon stockings because I was told that me, as a beginner, would get along better with a little elastane. No problem, I got two of them! They feel so good in my legs, really!

And then, to finish this rather long post, I went to Playful Promises. And it was the nicest time ever! The lady on the store and I talked a lot and we both agreed that the Bond corset looked fabulous on me, so I decided that I had to take it. I tried on the Ghost collection as well, but nothing quite fitted me, sad (or maybe happy, if you take the view from my bank account). I took two panties-on-a-tin as well, because they were so cute! The store is really lovely and they carry plenty of things, even though is a small space. They didn’t have ruffled panties in my size, though, just some bright pink ones I didn’t like that much. I hope they have, next time!

I am very satisfied with my corset, so far. I am still leraning how to lace myself, but I am sure it will be fun.
