Lingerie Review: Knock Out! Panties.

Image
The three panties and this cute package I got

When the people at Knock Out! offered me some panties to review, I got quite interested in their technology. Although I love the “common” panties, these ones had something different, and I really wanted to see how that worked.

Knock Out! Smart Panties were invented by a mom, and we can all agree that moms know best. She noticed that a lot of women had problems with the thin cotton layer on the panties. At every age, we face some kind of problem – periods, odor, sweat during exercising… and since she could not find panties with extra protection in the market, she decided to invent new ones. That is truly smart!

The boyshort. Really cute color, really nice lace, really comfortable.

I was excited when the package arrived, including three panties and a lot on information. The Lacy Thong, the Lacy Panty and the Lacy Boyshort (can you tell I am a lace lover?) were inside the envelope, along with a lot of information concerning the materials and how does it works.

Image

You probably know that the panties you wear everyday must have cotton, so your body can breathe. This one, though, have a thick layer of cotton, that allows your body to breathe but keep odor and liquids (a bit). It is comfortable, even being thick, and it really does protect you from any of these unpleasant situations. I had the chance to test the panties while on a 12-hour plane flight, 10 thousand feet or so above the ground, and was very pleased with how it worked!

On the media material and on the website of Knock Out!, they include a lot of opinions from real women of all ages, which is really nice! I like and support lingerie brands that do not follow the same directions of making pieces to please young women – of course, we need them too, and of course no brand would please every woman, but it’s really nice to have different options and different opinions from women of all ages!

The opinions on the website could not be more precise – the panties really met my expectations! The do protect you, they are soft and comfortable and they look good! Basic, pretty enough to look yourself in the mirror and strike a pose. “Only a woman could come up with this!” the phrase on the website is true. only a woman could understand the necessities of another – and that is why these panties are so good and useful.

Knock Out! can be found on their website and on facebook. The products produced include nightwear and sportswear, too!

Lingerie Review: Knock Out! Panties.

Comfortable but Pretty: Panties for Everyday.

I love panties. I could spend lots of time looking at my panties drawer and back to the mirror, trying to choose what I’m about to wear. It sound crazy, sometimes, but I know that when I’m wearing good underwear, my day turns a little better.

However, there are days that I know I couldn’t wear thongs or any kind of panties that would make me slightly uncomfortable. It can be because I’m moody, it can be sadness, it can be growing hair or just the desire to feel as comfortable as possible. On those days, I look at my drawer and am absolutely thankful for my comfortable panties, specially the beautiful ones, because I really like the idea of feeling good without the sacrifice of wearing dull undergarments.

So, I thought I should share with you some of these, because I know you are crazy about panties too, and well… why not? We all have those days when we need a cup of tea/hot chocolate, a hug and pretty but comfortable panties. And just as a reminder: click on the image to get on the website!

Gap

Image
I have one exactly like this. I find it very cute.

I bought these by accident (kind of). Searching for a sleeping shirt at a gap store, they were at sale and I am a lingerie freak. So I bought three. And I can assure you, I will buy more when I get to a Gap store again, because they are the most wonderful things. I find that lace give a nice touch to undergarments, I feel cute and sexy when wearing and I don’t even remember that I have panties on. Besides, the range of colors and models is really big so you can choose which one to wear, matching or mismatching a bra or your outerwear, in the style you feel more comfortable.

Victoria’s Secret PINK

Image
Yes, I do love when they have funny things written. I bought one recently that looks like Wonder Woman’s underwear and I’m amazed by it.

Victoria’s Secret have a lot of issues, is not news to anyone that knows a little about lingerie. I feel no shame to admit, however, that I do like some of their stuff, specially the PINK ones. My drawer is full of their panties, because they are really, really comfortable. May not be the sexiest thing ever, so I don’t exactly wear them on a night out or when I wanna feel like a burlesque queen, but yes, I do love to have funny things written in my bum, or bright colors under my jeans. Whenever I travel outside Brazil, I know it’s time to change some of my panties, so I take advantage of the cheap price on these and buy some (at least 5, to be honest, since buying 5 is cheaper than buying 3!).

Miss Crofton

Image
Miss Crofton offers high-waisted options, so if you like this style, I would highly recommend trying the brand.

I am a student, so low budget is an item I take in account when buying panties. I have been given the opportunity to try a Miss Crofton set and I definitely put it in my beautiful-and-comfortable list, but I couldn’t buy more to say I have a collection. I can completely agree that the price is worth, since they are all handmade and I thing we should be buying more from independent designers. Anyway, Georgia’s garments are lovely, the bras being as comfortable as the panties and the styles absolutely beautiful.

Topshop

Image
Kittens! I have one with birds and one with colored dots. They are all so cute.

I am a Topshop lover. When it comes to panties, this is no different, since they are cheap and the nicest thing ever. The prints make me more amazed, and the price -even when shopping in Brazil’s Topshop!- is really nice, absolutely compatible to the garment they offer. Having tons of styles, models and prints, I am always caught by the chiffon ones. The lace brazilians are amazing, too, but not as comfortable as this. Hint: I buy it one size bigger so it’s even better!

I hope you find my tips really useful, since, as I stated above, I understand the need of comfortable things, but can’t cope with ugly ones. Do you have your own favorite brand for these panties? How do you feel about this situation and what do you have in your panties drawer to get through these days?

UK Lingerie Trip

Now that I’ve been in London for almost a week, I have plenty of lingerie-related things to share. Didn’t have enough time to visit everything I wanted to, but I guess I’ll have to leave it for the next time. Anyway, I’ve been doing lots of lovely things and visiting amazing places. It’s the 4th time I am in London and I can tell you it’s the best time ever!

Yesterday I was on Oxford St., shopping for clothes (as I’ve said before, Brazil is a pretty expensive place to shop) and, as I stopped by Miss Selfridge/Topshop, I grabbed some panties (knickers! we are in England!) because they looked really pretty and I know they make comfortable things. It’s very cheap (9 pounds for 3 panties!) and I really love the ones I chose.

Image
Three for 9 pounds on these cuties? Totally worth it.

Then, as it was a beautiful sunny day -and I should add that the weather here is wonderful, totally different from the common english weather-, I walked to the Marble Arch to get to Paolita/Kiss me Deadly boutique. It’s a small, lovely place! The lady was very helpful, I tried on some sizes of the Van Doren bralet and ended up with the medium one. It’s probably the post comfortable bra ever, but I’ll be reviewing that later.

Along with that, I got this amazing (truly, truly amazing) suspender belt which I am almost sure is from the Van Doren collection as well, but it has lace on the front. And it has 6 straps, which is so much better than 4! The panties were a little too big on the waist, as they were high-waisted. It happens with every high-waisted one… Anyway, I was very happy with my bralet and suspender belt!

Image
This is the perfect suspender belt for everyday wear. And bra, too!

That was the end of a day, which had a few more stuff like some amazing pieces of clothing, dinner with friends and a flash meeting with Caro, the Lingerie Lesbian – but I’m pretty sure I’ll be seeing her in Leicester next week!

Today, when the sun was already up on the sky, I woke up to a day in Notting Hill. They had this super cool street market with plenty of vintage stuff, collectibles, pretty dresses, foods, china… I bought a lot of nice things like an old camera for my dad’s collection, a polka dotted dress and a 3-plates vintage cake stand that looks like it came from Alice in Wonderland.

Just in Portobello Road, I could find What Katie Did boutique, full of faux vintage things and feathers. The women on the store looked like pin up girls, which was beautiful. I didn’t stay there for too long, to be honest, because although I really love the vintage aesthetic, I am not bold enough to spend my money on a set for me, yet. Specially because 1 pound turns out to be almost 4 reais (which is the brazilian currency, if you are not aware). But I needed hosiery for my new suspender belts, and they were on a really good price. Me and the ladies spent some minutes discussing sizing and wether I’d be better with fully nylon stockings or not. I ended up choosing not to take the nylon stockings because I was told that me, as a beginner, would get along better with a little elastane. No problem, I got two of them! They feel so good in my legs, really!

One in black, one in nude.

And then, to finish this rather long post, I went to Playful Promises. And it was the nicest time ever! The lady on the store and I talked a lot and we both agreed that the Bond corset looked fabulous on me, so I decided that I had to take it. I tried on the Ghost collection as well, but nothing quite fitted me, sad (or maybe happy, if you take the view from my bank account). I took two panties-on-a-tin as well, because they were so cute! The store is really lovely and they carry plenty of things, even though is a small space. They didn’t have ruffled panties in my size, though, just some bright pink ones I didn’t like that much. I hope they have, next time!

I am very satisfied with my corset, so far. I am still leraning how to lace myself, but I am sure it will be fun.

Next post will probably be in Leicester, so I will be telling all about the Bra Making course I have enrolled into!

A funny picture of myself in Camden Town, today. London is an amazing place.

So, this is about to be a little post with plenty of photos and a bit about how my first days in London have been. I won’t be telling details about everything related to my trip because I guess just the lingerie parts are important (since this is, obviously, a lingerie blog).

First of all, I met Mira from Lost in Lingerie. She and her parter are absolutely lovely, we had a great time together. We got to talk about our lives, lingerie plans, I saw a preview of the next photoset that will be on her blog, we laughed a lot and I ate something delicious.

Mira and I after brunch, on St. Pancras railway. Beautiful place, sweet people.

After that, I went to the famous Oxford Street for a walk and some shopping. I knew that Victoria’s Secret was near there, so I stopped by because I needed a bra that wasn’t about to be expensive, I needed proper fitting and I needed lounge pants and soft, cheap, cute panties. Victoria’s Secret may not have my favorite marketing strategy and I may not agree with all the magic that surrounds the idea of being an Angel (specially as I was a model before and I have felt how hard this is), but I really like some of their pieces and the smell of their body washes.

Therefore, I entered the big store and, after a few minutes mentally screaming “OH MY GOD” to the Angels outfits exposed, got to the fitting rooms for a proper fitting. As I’ve been measured as a 34B by a VS lady a while ago, I wasn’t very sure about the pink measuring tape they had around their neck. But the method they used was really nice, as a matter of fact. The lady measured my back and came to the conclusion that I was a 32 (something I already knew, since the band on the 34 was too large). Then, she started on a B cup and I tried it on, even though I was sure that I was a C cup. Then, she brought me a C cup and… it was too small. Maybe my boobs got bigger as I put on some weight (yay!), maybe they were always like this and I had never noticed. However, I tried on the next cup size and it fits just perfect. I can finally assume that I am a 32D girl.

That stated, I bought a basic black bra (oh, not all VS styles come in this size. I wanted one from the PINK section because they are comfortable and cheap, so I could only find one), a lounge pant in this dark blue shade which I loved and some panties. And I got a PINK dog, which is lovely. Is my second dog (they are cute! you can tell that I get excited with these silly stuff because I can’t get in touch with them home, only when I’m abroad).

Sometimes, I like sexy panties. Sometimes, I like funny ones.

Then, on the next day, I got tired of funny patterns and cotton. I walked to the nearest Agent Provocateur store and, as they were on sale, I could buy a whole lingerie set. Normally, I would only have money for a bra, or maybe a bra and some panties that did not match. But not this time. The lady that helped me was absolutely sweet and we ended up having a good time trying on bras on me. Her middle name, by coincidence, was Manuela! I got caught between this set and a bright pink one. I thought for a bit and decided that I already had enough black things (besides the fact that I am probably going to get some more tomorrow…), so I would go for the bright pink and red one. And so I did!

The chosen one. I really, really love this. It's totally out of my comfort zone.

I am still going to buy stockings to match this set full of satin and lace, and tomorrow I have time to visit some other stores. I will be sure to take more pictures and share them all with you!

Tulli

Image

This week, as I was scrolling through facebook, I saw a image announcing that Tulli was about to show their lingerie, which is mostly sold online, on a little store near my college. And they announced how they would serve champagne and brigadeiro, which is the best sweet ever. Irresistible, I had to go there.

You see, even though I loved their stuff on the website, it’s amazing to have the opportunity to touch the materials and see the actual color and the sizes. That’s what I did: I arrived there, alone, and started touching and feeling everything. It must sound weird but everything was so lovely!

Image
Holy lingerie! Everything was so pretty!

By talking with Carol, the designer, I found out her motivation to start deigning panties: she couldn’t find anything cute enough to feel beautiful but comfortable enough to wear everyday. At least not here in Brazil (If you are not aware, let me explain something: we have plenty of customs taxes here and we can’t import any item that costs more than $50 without paying those high taxes). So, as a fashion designer, she decides to make some herself.

“They are delicate and sensual just enough, bringing curiosity and desire. Made specially to the occasions when you wanna wear nothing but this piece” That is what was written on one of their tags. Of course, I knew that since I bought a piece!

Image
I bought this. It’s babydoll style, it has a nice colour, it has bows. It’s perfect.

With lots of beautiful lace, satin and colors, it’s clear that Tulli is a nice step forward on the brazilian lingerie market. Since the brazilian woman (not all of them, but most of) is not used to luxury lingerie or to wearing materials like lace on an everyday basis, the brand develops a nice work on bringing this to our eyes (and, I must state, with a totally accessible price!). They divide their pieces (besides the cute and beautiful panties, they have some tops and babydolls) in three lines: Basic, Fun and Special.

Not only this is wonderful, but they have a special plan for women who want to receive their panties without having to go out or who like the surprise factor. I was personally excited about the surprise factor. So, here’s how it works: you state whether you like thongs or not and they will send you one different piece every month – and they end up costing even cheaper than buying separately!

Image
I loved this one, too. The colors are so suitable with spring fashion!

So, what you think about the pieces? Would you apply to the one-panty-a-month plan or do you prefer to go to the store and buy it separately?

*special thanks to Carol, who was so sweet to me and let me take these pictures!
